  • PERIODS OF BREAKS

You are permitted to having stage breaks for up to 5 years in total.

You are permitted to have a suspension from studies:

    • 12 months - normally

You are normally permitted to suspend your studies for a maximum of 12 months at any one time. You will not be placed into suspension for more than 12 months in the first instance.

    • If a student requests further time beyond the 12-month period, a new request must be made with supporting evidence
    • 24 months - exceptional circumstances
You can request a maximum of 24 months. You cannot take more than 24 months suspension

    RETURNING

On return from suspension, you must have a minimum of 2 months registration time remaining, to allow enough time to engage with their supervisor and submit draft versions of the Final Dissertation/Project and receive supervisor comments, before they submit a final version.

ACCESS TO CANVAS DURING YOUR BREAK

During the suspension period, you will still have access to materials on Canvas, but will not be able to submit any work during the suspension period.
